some info for before our appointment:

studio:



 I work out of Angel Kisses Studio in Historic Filipino Town/Echo Park.

There’s easy street parking in the neighborhood across the street. You’re welcome to bring a friend if you’d like!

    prepping your skin:



    • Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to our appointment to keep your skin hydrated.

    • Moisturize the area you will be getting tattooed for a few days leading up to the appointment. 

    • Use a gentle exfoliant, such as a washcloth or fine sugar scrub, on the area a few days prior to our appointment. 

    • Avoid tanning or getting sunburnt where you will be getting tattooed. 

    • If the area needs to be shaved, I prefer to do it in session to prevent irritation or razor bumps. 

    • I advise against drinking the night before as it can increase bleeding during our session (also nothing worse than getting tattooed while hungover). 

    This all makes for skin that’s healthy and easy to tattoo. Dry skin doesn’t take ink as well and can heal less evenly.

    more prep:



    • Have a full meal prior and bring snacks. There’s a mini fridge if you’d like to bring a meal to eat during a break. 

    • Coming well-rested can help with your pain tolerance during the session. 

    • Plan ahead for a session that may last longer than you anticipate. If you’re getting a custom tattoo or medium-to-large flash, I recommend keeping your day fully open. 

    • Wear clothing with the placement of your tattoo in mind. For tattoos near sensitive areas, I recommend wearing a tie bikini for women and loose boxers for men. I also recommend wearing black to prevent ink stains on your clothing (it also makes for better photos!). 

    • For both custom tattoos and flash, it helps to come in with as clear of an idea as possible of what you're looking for. Even if you're not completely sure, a few solid ideas makes the process much smoother.

    Also, if you're traveling from out of town, let me know! It helps me plan our session accordingly. 

    customs:



    I prefer working on custom designs together in person or on Zoom. This way I can better understand your vision and we can collaborate along the way. 

    In person:     How this usually works is I will have sketches prepared beforehand of different design concepts. The first hour* of our appointment is blocked out for us to tailor the design until you’re happy with it. Once it feels right to you, I'll go finalize it for 20-60 min (depending on the complexity) and get the stencil prepared. This is a time in which you can leave the studio to get food or just hang around.

    On Zoom: This is what I recommend for larger/more complex pieces, if you’re coming from out of town, or if you know you tend to be more indecisive during the design process. How this works is after your booking deposit is received, we will find a time to schedule a 30-45 minute call prior to our appointment date. During this call we’ll discuss your idea and I can screenshare while I sketch. This way I can prepare a design beforehand having understood your vision more (talking is just so much better than dm-ing) and then our appointment day is focused on final adjustments and tattooing.

    * The first hour of design revisions is included in the price of your custom tattoo. If you'd like to spend more time working through ideas or making adjustments, additional design time is available at $150/hour. Coming in with a clear idea of what you're looking for helps us make the most of our time together :)

    pricing:



    My rate is $150/hour for time spent tattooing for both flash and customs. Cash only please!

    Customs are an additional flat fee of $50 -150 depending on the level of labor involved.
    1. Simple custom: $50
    2. Standard custom piece: $100
    3. Complex composition / large piece: $150

    Symmetrical placements are an additional $50 for both customs and flash as these are more labor-intensive in the stenciling process.

    However, if the design process or stencil placement takes less time than I’ve anticipated I will happily waive or discount these fees.

    rescheduling:



    Life happens! If you need to reschedule or cancel please give a 48 hour notice if possible, this gives me time to book someone else in your slot. Appointments that are rescheduled or canceled after 48 hours will need a new deposit to rebook.
